Frankfurt am Main, 20 April 2015 – ING Commercial Banking continues its growth path and announces the appointment of Christian Schulz as Head of Utilities, Power & Renewables in Frankfurt with effect from 1 April 2015. Christian reports to Michael Zander, Head of sector-based Structured Finance & Sponsor Coverage. His functional manager at ING in Amsterdam is Diederik van den Berg, Head of Structured Finance – Utilities, Power & Renewables EMEA Region. Christian’s position has been newly established.
Christian Schulz’s vast experience in different industries
Since 2006 Christian held various senior positions in energy project finance: between 2006 and 2011 he headed the international project finance team for renewable energy at Commerzbank before he became Head of Energy at Lloyd Funds and later Collineo Asset Management, where he was responsible for the M&A and Asset Management of energy funds. He started his career at Commerzbank in Frankfurt in 2000 in multinational corporate relationship management and later in the business development of the newly established Mittelstandsbank.
ING’s growth ambitions
ING Commercial Banking Germany intends to significantly grow its relationship base of equipment suppliers and developers of European energy projects, including German companies. In future, ING will be able to fulfill the financing requirements of these clients from one source, through the newly created Utilities, Power & Renewables division. As part of ING's global Structured Finance network, ING Germany will hereby be able to serve its clients in both their local and their international projects.
